A forgotten way...

I have just recently come across a book titled "The Lakota Way: Stories and lessons for living" By Joseph M. Marshall. In the beinging I did not know what to think other than the native american way of life was somthing I really wanted to understand. Right of the bat, the author thouroughly explains this intentions and reasons for writing the book. He has put togther a collection of stories that have been passed down from generation to generation, that sort of remind me of their version of asops fables. These stories are passed down from tribe elders to the younger members of the tribe to instill the moral values nessesary to the lakota way of life. I have read through six chapters and have been blown away by the power and insight behind these stories. I would go as far to say that these are some of the best tales I have ever heard in my life, and each one has an important lesson behind it. This is an incredible book and I recomend that the world read it. For if we could instill some of these values into main stream socities, the world would be a much better place. An amazing book and I am not even done.
