NFL Draft Week 2007

This is the time of year where we football freaks get a cheap tease with the Pro Football Draft. Football season is months away and it is a damn tease i tell you! Well hopefully the Cowboys and a stud to the line up. I am hoping for my boy Reggie Nelson FS for your 2006-2007 National Chompion Florida Gators. He is a ballhawking centerfielder type that I believe would fit perfectly along side Roy Williams. This would allow Terrance Newman a.k.a. (T-New) to shut down his side of the field as he always does and give Anthony Henry a.k.a. the other corner help deep. Henry is a physical corner who excels at bump and is strong in run support but in order to be truly effective he needs saftey help. This is were my boy Reggie a.k.a (Da Eraser) fits in. He has the speed of a corner (4.34 in the 40), leaping ability of a kangaroo, and the hands of a spiderman himself. Plus he lays the hardwood on anyone who dares try and come into his territory. I am crossing my fingers!

THERE IS ALWAYS A LIFE LESSON TO LEARN

What sucks is that I always seem to learn them the hard way. I wonder, am in the minority or the majority? Do most people learn the hard way or do most think ahead and are able to forsee the consequences and set a plan in motion to bypass the hard knocks. The the stereotypical demographics of my surrounding area make me think I am in the majority, but I realize that this is a miniscule sample size so I ask the millions (joke) who read my blog to chime in.

Suspicious Society

I keep on telling people that anyone and everyone is capable of anything and everything given the right mindset. From the nicest of the nice to the meanest of the mean and so on, etcetera etcetera. The atrocities that were committed this week in Blacksburg Virgina on the Virgina Tech campus seem to reinforce my thoughts on the matter. This guy was obviously not right in the head. The line between sane and insane is

What really gets to me is the lack of action not take by the University after the first incident in which the first two victims were killed. How do you go roughly two hours without waring the student body that there is a killer on the loose. Its fucking ridiculous if you ask me. I mean, I would have to live through something like that and actually see if I would do the same or not but I like to think that I would get the word out at the very least.

Unfortunately it seems to me that with no proper action take, the situation was allowed to escalate from what could have been two murders to over 30. No lose of life is ever wished for, but when you look at it by the numbers, 2 is better than 30plus. My heart goes out to the families and friends of the victims as well as the student body and faculty that witnessed this most disturbing of human experiences.

Pin pointing troubled people such as the killer needs to become more efficient and if we are to avoid this type of events from taking place. The warning signs were present and numerous, this event in my eyes should not have happened and is inexcusable.

It makes me wonder how much of this blame falls on society in general. How careless have we gotten? I feel it is our duty to reevaluate the way society has and is shaping our lives as well as its effects on future generations.

Diesel Powered

The NBA playoffs have arrived. Will Wade county be celebrating like the folks in Gainsville or are they destined to fall short to either the Bulls, Cavs, or Pistons. If Heat are rested and D-wade is 85%, I believe we can reach the conference finals versus Detroit were Andre and his boys will be licking their chops at the chance for redemption. If the Heat play like they did when Wade was out they should fare well and reach the championship series.

I am a bit concerned at the fact that since Wades return, the Heat have gone away from the Diesel and have reverted back to watching D-wade work. Shaq needs to be established first so that Miami's slasher and perimeter shooters have open looks. Then Dwayne Wade can just take over and just hammer the lid shut on the opposition as he did last season.

Go Heat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A moment of silence for the lives lost today at Virgina Tech University.

Blacksburg, Va. - A gunman opened fire in a dorm and classroom at Virginia Tech today, killing at least 21 people and wounding 28 in the deadliest campus massacre in U.S. history. The gunman was killed, bringing to death toll to 22, but it was unclear if he was shot by police or took his own life.

May they and their families all be at peace, may thier hearts remain open
May they all awaken to the light of thier own true nation.
May they be healed, may they be a source of healing for all beings

My dream of dreams

To live in a simple ocean front house, with a medium sized boat docked on the dock. I want to live of the land and sea. I want to provide for myself and my family and the lot of animals I will care for. .Be one with the elements, become an element. Surf the seas by day and star gaze by night. Develope a small close knit community of people who truly care for thier neighbors and are characterized as genuine. Its either this or becoming the owner of the dallas cowboys. lol.

Share your dream of dreams.

This pretty much sums it all up for me. I have read many of his works and as I live my life and truely experience things, I start to understand his words, not just intellectually, not just emotionally, but with the insight of which he speaks. This type of stuff get me excited to be alive and to continue on the journy. Remembering that The destination is not what matters, its the journy.

"The core of Krishnamurti's teaching is contained in the statement he made in 1929 when he said: 'Truth is a pathless land'. Man cannot come to it through any organization, through any creed, through any dogma, priest or ritual, not through any philosophic knowledge or psychological technique. He has to find it through the mirror of relationship, through the understanding of the contents of his own mind, through observation and not through intellectual analysis or introspective dissection. Man has built in himself images as a fence of security - religious, political, personal. These manifest as symbols, ideas, beliefs. The burden of these images dominates man's thinking, his relationships and his daily life. These images are the causes of our problems for they divide man from man. His perception of life is shaped by the concepts already established in his mind. The content of his consciousness is his entire existence. This content is common to all humanity. The individuality is the name, the form and superficial culture he acquires from tradition and environment. The uniqueness of man does not lie in the superficial but in complete freedom from the content of his consciousness, which is common to all mankind. So he is not an individual.

Freedom is not a reaction; freedom is not a choice. It is man's pretence that because he has choice he is free. Freedom is pure observation without direction, without fear of punishment and reward. Freedom is without motive; freedom is not at the end of the evolution of man but lies in the first step of his existence. In observation one begins to discover the lack of freedom. Freedom is found in the choiceless awareness of our daily existence and activity. Thought is time. Thought is born of experience and knowledge which are inseparable from time and the past. Time is the psychological enemy of man. Our action is based on knowledge and therefore time, so man is always a slave to the past. Thought is ever-limited and so we live in constant conflict and struggle. There is no psychological evolution.

When man becomes aware of the movement of his own thoughts he will see the division between the thinker and thought, the observer and the observed, the experiencer and the experience. He will discover that this division is an illusion. Then only is there pure observation which is insight without any shadow of the past or of time. This timeless insight brings about a deep radical mutation in the mind.

Total negation is the essence of the positive. When there is negation of all those things that thought has brought about psychologically, only then is there love, which is compassion and intelligence."

You know what I love about life?

No... well guess.

I will give you 5,4,3,2,1

ERRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Times up.

Well I guess you could say there are many things I could and do love about life, but i am focusing on one especially relavent observation.

Its all about the attitude you have.

Bad attitude = more likely than not a bad time.

Good attitude = more likely than not a good time.

Today is not what I call a great day, but I would not know it since I am in a happy mindset.

N E ways,

My friends and I went to the beach on Saturday, man do I need to go more often. The sun, the water, the women! Hot Hot Hot! It was a good time and we actually planned it well, we usually just go and forget everyting, but this time we had all we needed. Here is the basic check list.
  1. Towels - check*
  2. beach chairs- check
  3. Ipod with speakers- check*
  4. cooler with drinks- check*
  5. snacks-check
  6. sunscreen-check*
  7. Softball equipment**-check
* = essential
** = Inside joke

I also need to get myself some nice shades but other than that i think we got it covered. We are working on getting a little grill as well.

Then we went home, ate and surgically dismanteled some of my friend Adri's friends in basketball.

What does this equall? A hell of a good Saturday.
Its always intresting to me when I read somthing that directly pertains to what I am thinking or feeling. So lets see if you all (yes the hundereds of people that read my blog, lol) find it intresting as well.

Seed for thought

"We can recognize the ego as the part of ourself that lives in our historical past, our story, rather than the present moment. When some one says somthing and we respond way out of proportion to the comment, that's the ego responding from its insecure place of self-importance. As we learn to sidestep the ego, we also learn not to take the bait when some one else's ego challenges us. "

"Its is difficult to see the world with new eyes and to disregard the constant criticisms of our noisy ego. I am tired of the suffering that my judging self causes. "

One game away from history.

Will it be the freshmen led Ohio State team headlined by Mike Conley Jr. and the man child Greg Oden?

Or will it be the Defending National Champs who are looking to cap a dominant showing in NCAA world of sports. My money is on one team, a team that could and should supplant the original fab five as the real fab five.

P.S. Eat your heart out Michigan! I also knocked on wood after writing this.
