FINALLY!!!

The Florida Gators win their sixth SEC championship in grand fashion. This game was nuts, a hell of a performance by both teams. It was everything a championship game should be. I am very happy for the 21 seniors who found a way to win yet again. Gators finish the season 12-1 and await the BCS calculations that come out tomorrow. Its either UF or UM (Mich.) thats gonna meet Ohio State for the Title game.

I personally think that Michigan does not deserve to play due to thier loss to Ohio State. Give another team who has NOT lost to OSU a shot at it. Michigan had thier chance and came up short. It would be a crime not to allow the Gators to play, and prove again that the BCS system is flawed.

Enjoy the win Gator fans we deserve it for all those tough years under Zook.

Prediction: The stars will align and allow the Gators to take on OSU for the title.

Well whatever happens, you've got my Bruins to thank for it.

Personally, I think that Michigan is the better team. The SEC wasn't as strong this year as people said they were. Beating South Carolina because of a missed field goal? You gotta be kidding me!

Michigan came on field goal away from having a perfect season. Plus, they've been more consistent than Florida. I'm on the west coast and I picked that up.

By the way, my name's Jennifer. I found your blog on Andre's page. I hope you don't mind me dropping by.

Not at all Jennifer, drop by anytime, But i do have to disagree with you about the SEC being down this year. I would pit the SEC against any conference in the nation and watch the SEC teams own up.

I thank your bruins, and will be sending each of them a thank you note.

When all is said and done, Florida still played the toughest schedule in the nation, won the SEC and deserved a shot, especially since Michigan lost to OSU already.

Go GATORS!!!!!!!!!!

Yo Andre, there is always next year man.

Thank you Jennifer. I'm glad to see that somebody else agrees with me that the SEC wasn't all that strong. They were good on paper; but that's about it. The Big Ten had three different teams with 11 or more wins. Michigan beat one of them; and took it to the end with the other one.

Was Georgia really that good this year? Not really. How about Tennessee. Uh...no. What about Arkansas? Overrated maybe? Beating South Carolina by a missed field goal. For real?

But, the people have spoken. We all should know by now -- given the fact that President Bush is still in office -- that voters get it wrong all the time.

Go...uh...Bucks...

I would hate to insult your football iQ but

South Carolina, georgia, Tennesse, Alabama, even the KFC-U and Ole Miss will beat the living ---- out of any and most teams in the Big ten. I will post on this shortly

To me, the difficulty of the Big Ten is spelled out by the fact that -- any year -- a new team could emerge. The conference is filled with Bowl busters. Iowa, Purdue, Wisconsin, Penn State. Of course you've got your prolific teams like Michigan and Ohio State. But these Bowl Busters can run with just about anybody.

I'm not saying that Florida shouldn't get the love that they're getting. I'm just not a fan of giving them the nod for being in the SEC; which isn't all that strong.

If the SEC is so good, then why isn't Florida ranked number one; despite that one loss. Why did it take them the VERY LAST WEEK of the season to move ahead?

Frankly, too many people used the "Michigan already had their chance" argument to justify their decision. So, if Florida gets annihilated by OSU, and Michigan wins the Rose Bowl, what does that tell you about being number 2? What an insult to the system.

But, I won't do any more talking until the end of the Bowl season. We'll have a chance to add up our arguments then...

Simply put, ESPN type "style points"

Style points?

I'm wondering how many style points Florida would've had if they ran the table all season long and then loss in the SEC Championship. They would've still had the one loss, but it would not have been as stylish. It seems like winning a conference title eliminates the one-loss blemish. Only if Michigan had that same chance...

My point is simple: Since Michigan's season ended on a losing note (there is no official Big Ten championship game to fall back on); and the fact that people unfairly tossed out the "no rematch" defense, we got raped. To the voters we didn't produce enough "style points"; even though your boys had more nailbiters and close games as anyone.

The only way to determine who deserves more "style points" is to have a championship game in EVERY conference. If Michigan and OSU had conference title on a neutral field, I have no doubt things would be different now.

I guess I was not very clear. The reason why we did not get national notoriety is that we had no style points which = win by alot of points.
Our type of style points were on defense which are the real heart and soul of the gators. The lost to Auburn was a leak discombobulation in the second half. All the points scored in the second half where of defensive turnovers by leak on a iffy fumble called, and special teams. I have never seen anyone capable of totally blowing a game like chris leak did that game, he almost did it again in the SEC championship. But as they did all year long. The defense and special teams pulled us through.

Do I REALLY have to comment on UM's defense?

For that matter, do I have to comment on how balanced Michigan is as an ENTIRE team? The only team to even come close to finding holes did so with a number 1 ranking, on the last game of the season, at home.

Somebody call the cops. There's been a robbery.

if i put the SEC vs the Big Ten who would win more games? UM and OHIo had a donut for a schedule One tough game at the begining. TExas for OSU and Wisconsin for UM and then on tough game at the end. nothing in the middle which equals Weak as schedules.
