Ancient Wisdom
I love learning about ancient great civilizations. I love reading about their culture, history, sciences, spirituality, pretty much everything. I have always wondered how they became so advanced in their mastery of time, astrology, mathematics, physics and so on. The same goes for the civilizations in Egypt, India and the Orient.
I believe these people had insights long forgotten by the modern world. Ancient teachings that would benefit all aspects of modern life. Sadly all or most information like this is seen as bullarcky.
Haven't you always felt like there is something more to life, than the usual adult routine. Yes we work hard to provide for ourselves and our families but is that all our life is meant for. Work, Play, Eat, Sleep, Repeat. I don't know about you guys but I don't want my life to sound like the instructions on the back of a shampoo bottle.
Keeping the mind open to all things available to me is a big thing for me. I hope to continue my search for knowledge and wisdom that is rooted deep within. Its a feeling that stimulates me to keep at it, find it, my purpose. Its close i can feel it.

One of the reasons I think that ancient civilizations were so prosperous (in many ways, similar to today) is that they were usually sparked by the notion of innovation; the constant need for change and improvement. Whether they saw changes in infrastructure, technology, education, politics, or entertainment, there was always some new opportunities that presented themselves. That's the most surefire way to avoid the "Shampoo bottle" complex.
But one of the problems is that many people -- the complacent cats don't want to mess up their sense of comfort by trying new things. Instead, they want to rest on what they know; which is usually to the detriment of progress. Hell, that explains why it's 2007 and we still have a two party political system.
